The excursion is fully booked. All additional registrations will be put on a waiting list.

In connection with the EMS & ECAC, the Marine Science Institute of the National Research Council of Italy, and the Unione Meteorologica del Friuli Venezia Giulia, local sponsors and supporters, have organized a FREE excursion by boat around the Gulf of Trieste. The main goal is to visit two meteo-marine stations named PALOMA (ISMAR-CNR) and MAMBO (OGS). Explanations about scientific research and instrumental facilities on both sites will be given on-board by local researchers belonging to ISMAR and OGS.

Besides the scientific interest of the short trip, this will be an amazing chance to admire the city of Trieste from the sea and enjoy the beautiful view of Miramare Castle and the Trieste downtown seafront at sunset. The excursion is planned for Tuesday 13 September, departing from the EMS venue of Stazione Marittima at 18:00 and returning at 20:30. Check-in will start at 17:30.

In case of very bad sea conditions, the excursion may be cancelled. Such a decision is completely at the discretion of the boat captain.
